Founded on July 11, 1996, with a paid-in capital of NT$30 million. In 1997, the company obtained distribution rights for Silicon Motion, LUXSONOR, PMC, VERTEX (later acquired by Mitel, which was subsequently renamed Zarlink) and CIRRUS LOGIC.
In 1998, a cash capital increase of NT$15 million was implemented, bringing the total paid-in capital to NT$45 million. In the same year, distribution rights were secured for DATATRANSIT, iVi, IDT, nVIDIA and SILICON LABORATORIES.
In 1999, Edom purchased an office building on Jihu Road, Neihu District for operational use, and also obtained distribution rights for ACQIS, ICMEDIA and Colorado (Zight).
In 2000, a capital increase of NT$88.5 million through retained earnings and NT$166.5 million through cash injection was completed, raising the total paid-in capital to NT$300 million. Distribution rights for MicroLinear, BSI, PLL, SILICON BRIDGE, Biteck, MKNET, Accelent and EGR Global were added in the same year.
In 2001, a further capital increase of NT$220 million via retained earnings was executed, pushing the total paid-in capital to NT$520 million. The company also secured distribution rights for Massana International, SEMTECH, RadarSync LTD., PalmPalm, Netergy, Venkel LTD., Silicon Optix and IXI that year.
In 2002, a capital increase of NT$364 million through retained earnings was carried out, bringing the total paid-in capital to NT$884 million. In July of the same year, the company’s stock listing application was approved by the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC). Trading of its shares on the Taiwan Stock Exchange commenced on October 1. Distribution rights for OAK, ARCHCOM, Bermai and Transmeta were also obtained in 2002.
